We had great fun coming up with a video concept for this entertaining musical ode to the classic Hollywood Western…
We edited and colour corrected scenes from two archive Western films with the song, loosely following the lyrics whilst also giving the video a simple narrative.
We then created a series of period title slides to open and close the video.
The two films used here were Six-Gun Rhythm [AKA Rhythm Rides the Range] (1939) and The End of the Game (1919). Watch them both in full and for free at the Internet Archive.
The Coal Porters latest album, No. 6, was produced by John Wood, the legendary British folk-rock mastermind who recorded the classic albums of Fairport Convention, Nick Drake, Beth Orton and Squeeze.
